Watching yotube instead of woodworking (the wooden Briefcase project), flipped from chip carving , into carving and suddenly I found myself watching on "Moroccan Bow Lathe", don't know how but there it is!
I've seen some of the Amercian and british guys showing how to do loose rings and rattles and some of the home made tools for releasing the rings, I recall one guy saying its about 2 in 5 that break whilst releasing them.
I've sweated and worried, hunched over a union graduate lathe, wishing I could someday have access to a variable speed machine, thinking I may manage to produce better work.
If you like me are "taking a break" maybe you'll also have some time to watch this guy in Morocco, it was the first hit in the list.
For those who have seen it before...Shhhhhhhhh, dont tell em
