I saw some machinery at a supplier in Worthing yesterday.
www.homewood-ltd.co.uk
They had some imported machines from Sweden called Moretens.
Looked very nice, I am after a planer thicknesser and a panel saw.
They only had a p/t on show.
Just wondering if anyone has the panel saw, and if so what are your impressions, or on any Moretens products for that matter.
Thanks

yes, I have some experience with their stuff. First saw their rather strrange spindle moulder and 4 sider planer at Ally Pally 10-12 years ago.
Since then I have used their ph260 4 sider planer with much jealousy  (it was a friends machine) Wish I had the money to get one, their machines are well built and run sweet.

Sounds good to me.

The panel saw works out at around £2000, but if it is as well built as the planer, it would be worth it.
The same day I saw the Moreten, I went to Scott and Sargeant in Horsham to see some second hand machines.
Ok so they are good solid cast iron and built to last, but £3000 for a thirty year old machine, no way.
Just wish I could see one before I place an order.
Ps might well be a Sheppach TS4010, immaculate condition, one careful owner all the slidy bits years mot etc for sale soon.

I've recently been and looked at quite a few of their machines, and i must say i'm impressed by what you get for the money. The one thing i don't like is all the sheet metal though. But they'd be hard to beat on bang for buck...
Some interesting solutions as well, but expect some setup before you're happy.

I'd been looking for the TS4010 for ages on Ebay, kept missing out @ auctions, one went for £1300, one for £1100 then I got mine for £980! RESULT I reckon. Sliding carriage, RH extension, & outfeed table extension. Not managed to get it yet due to the snow. Good luck on getting yourself one Davin.
