I've been thinking of investing in a wood moisture content measuring device and possibly one to measure the ambient moisture content of the workshop so I can compare it to the environment where the piece will end up.

1. Does anyone else do this?

2. Can anyone recommend any specific devices?

Cheers, Graham.

Personally I think that is overkill. Humidity varies day by day and throughout the day. As far as measuring moisture content of wood goes then the Wagner range are good

Thanks for the reply. As you are the only one I'll take it that yours is the general opinion.
