Mitre saw stand

Hello guys. First post.

I have a Makita LS 1013 and I'm looking for a stand similar to the Dewalt 7023 which has stops and will enable me to do repeat length cuts.

I've checked with a couple fo retailers and they say that the 7023 is not compatible with the Makita.

Makita don't offer this type of stand, so any ideas as to which stand the Makita will fit?

I have two saws that I use on this stand.

The none DeWalt one is fitted to the stand with a slight adaption. I have fitted a plywood base to the mitre saw then fitted that to the DeWalt clamps that hold it on to the stand.

I have the same saw on the Metabo stand, can't remember the number.

I'll have a look later on.........KSU400 springs to mind though, I think Chippy1970 has the same one ?

At work we've got the dewalt saw on the dewalt stand. Its an alright stand but the adjustable length supports/ stops in my opinion are not very good at supporting heaving timbers.

I bought a metabo stand last year for my ls1013 last year at the d&m tool show got it for £115 from what i can remember. It fits perfectly and its better made than the dewalt stand. I adapted it slightly as the bars that the saw attaches to are longer than you need so i trimmed them so they didnt stick out but you dont need to do that im just fussy.

If you buy the metabo one you get everything you need to bolt the saw on, if you buy the dewalt i think you need to buy a bigger set of bars for the makita.

Here you go I popped up the workshop and took a pic for you, the aluminium bars that bolt to the saw have t slots in them so you can slide the coach bolts that come with it to any position. As I say I adapted mine if you look on the left at the front of the saw it did stick out about 100mm I had to saw off 100mm then I had to re-tap the plastic foot you can see back onto the aluminium bar, the feet are for just when its off the stand.

I'll order the Metabo. Cheapest I can find is Direct Brand Tools at £147 + £7 carriage.

I had my makita on this saw stand before with no problems, why doesn't yours fit? Its just a wing nut in a slotted hole that can be adjusted to any saw i thought, unless they changed it.

Read it again i never said it didnt fit it did but the bars were longer than they needed to be so i trimmed between 75 and 100mm off now as you see in the pic they are exactly the same length as the makita base. I also put the bars so the locking knobs were at the rear so they dont get in your way.

My comment was to this sorry i should use the quotes more often. Sorry for the confusion. I've never seen your saw stand before but i'll be looking into in now. It looks nice.

No worries, it is a good stand only bit i dont like is that there is a tiny bit of play in the length stops so its not deadly accurate but its ok.
