micro drill bit set recommendations

Wood is much easier! I just take some spike (nail maybe?) and poke it into the wood at the right spot. This locates the drill bit point nicely.

Good point and 0.5 does seem very small for these locating pins. Just thinking if you had a load to do some sort of guide might be useful.

My set arrived - the pin vice seems quite good, though very light weight and the drills (HSS, not stainless) are more useful luthiery sizes than the Dormer set above.

Pin chuck looked OK but seemed useless on hard wood but managed it with pillar drill - smallest fit possible was 0.8mm which was OK.
Didn't break one!
