A year or so ago I would have poo-pooed a job such as this in the hunt for prestigious kitchen makeovers...
...however, as the recession bites further over the next couple of years, I suspect that that the number of people prepared to shell out tens of thousands for cabinet work will shrink to almost none.
A few hundred to hide an unsightly gas meter though, will still be manageable for most. I did this one this week for a regular customer who lives 100 yards from my workshop. I was able to mark the scribes, carry the panels back to the shop, and cut them on the bandsaw!
A couple of nice little jobs like this every week and I'm still earning as much as I can from big 2 month long projects.
It's the way forward for the next year or so. Pretty well every house has gas and electric meters which need hiding. That's thousands of potential customers already - just for meter cupboards!
Cheers
