The useful info for anyone wanting to convert one of these to single phase is that the motor for a myford ml7 has the same size mounting and shaft as the 3 pH motor which was on there, and these motors seem to be fairly easy to source, I picked one up in decent condition from eBay for £40. So it was a straightforward case of removing the pulley, putting it on the new motor and bolting it to the drill, simples! All working, now all I need is a chuck. Currently the drill looks like this

There's a hole in the bottom that measures just under 12mm, is this a Morse taper? Do I need to find a chuck with an arbor that will fit into the hole? Any ideas what size it would be?

Also, can anyone tell me the size of the thread for the handles, all three are missing from mine so will have to fabricate somehow...
