As an aside, I tried out the carcass saw. What a revelation! I've been struggling for years with a S&J B23 universal cut tenon saw. But this Lie Nielsen is like a hot knife through butter in comparison. Now I know what all the fuss is about. I'm a very happy camper

Regrettably, the lady who sent it didn't have much of a brain. She left the depth stop firmly fixed in and standing well up from the plane, then simply put the box into a standard padded envelope. Whilst in transit, it must have been crushed, resulting in the whole depth stop housing snapping off of the plane body. Ruined. And it was a mint condition plane, never having been used. Gaaaahhh! Very frustrating.
