I posted this blank a while ago as Quilted Maple, it turned out not quite as quilted as I was hoping, still nice though.
I was a bit rusty but had a good time making some shaving.
I am putting a few pics so you can see the patterns from different angles.
Hope you like

Hi Richard,

I think that is a super piece

I like the shape, the finishing is excellent, and of course the wood speaks for itself.

Malc :D

Looks pretty quilty to me Rich

Lovely piece of wood there, nice finish, I like the shape and thickness of the bowl. Good stuff Rich, you don't look too rusty from this.

Lovely, I knew this wasn't going to simply be 'Maple' Like the others, I love the shape, brilliant.

beautiful bowl richard, now i can why you raved about it on the phone mate, stunning.
Thats not bad for a rusty turner...

Another attractive piece of timber you've dug out of the stash Richard, should think turning that was a little more relaxing than burring the edge of your tools for once.

If that's you rusty, I look forward to seeing your work when you are shiny  Lovely piece of work making the best of a lovely piece of wood

Pete

Rich, this is absolutely gorgeous! Love it. The wood does speak for itself but it has also been well executed and finished.

Steve

Thank you all so much for the nice comments.
Not turned for a while due to loads of work and other pressures.
I can honestly say I loved every minute of turning this one.
This summer I am going to really push myself to turn much more.
Thanks again guys
Rich

Hi Rich,

I always like your bowls, clean simple lines that show off the wood to it's best. Just my kind of turning!!

Well done (cracking bit of wood too!!! - where do you get it all from??!!)

Cheers

Richard

Thanks again
Rich. The timber was inherited, I gave the bowl to his wife and she was happy.
Chas. Too right this was a pleasure to turn. The bevel rub on those crazy hard burrs burns my fingers and dulls the tool. Still it is worth it and I am hoping to post more soon :D
