Its designed to go on the landing at the top of the stairs, hence the very shallow depth. The leg profile is the same as the cherry table I have shown before, partly for speed and partly because I like it. I was using a limited amount of maple I had to make the table, hence the top is 3 bits joined together. I also laminated 2 X 1" to make the legs as I had no 2", which has worked out OK, although the polyurethane glue line is more visible than I would like it to be.

Hope you like

Cheers, Ed

This is very very nice Ed. I really like the simplicity of it. Some lovely gentle curves and the wedged tenons are a nice touch.

How long did it take you to make it?

Well I didn't really keep records, but approximately 30-35 hours I reckon.

Cheers, Ed

Excellent piece Ed...I might have been inclined to make the curved stretcher underneath a tad wider in the centre, what's the finish on it? - Rob

Thanks for the comments.

The finish is blonde shellac, about 12 coats, and then Black Bison wax over the top.

Cheers, Ed

A very lovely and elegant table Ed. Particularly like the legs and wedged tenon =D>

Love it, looks great with the Roger Oates carpet runner :)

A man with a taste for fine textiles I see :D Thanks for the comments.

She's got supermodel legs :D I like ...

The wedged tenons are great. I like a piece of furniture where the form speaks for itself and the maker hasn't gone overboard on flashy technical details (from a layman point of view anyway). Yours fits the bill very nicely.

I like this, Ed.

Simple, clean lines with a couple of things to say that it is just a little different. Maple isn't my favourite timber, but with the contrasting through-tenon and the small size it works really well here.

Very nice!

Mike
