I saw this on Grand Designs the other day, but can't remember what it's called...
Kevin McCloud reckoned it was a manufactured timber, made from the compressed strands of softwood. It's apparently as strong as oak, but easy to cut??
Can anyone tell me what this is called, and where you can get it? Also, has anyone actually used it, and if so, does it live up to Kevin's claims? From the brief glimpses I got, it looked like it had a very interesting grain pattern, presumably a side-effect of the squishing-together process.
