I have the nb2012 but I wasn’t aware of this upgrade. Tbh mine works pretty good with the supplied 63 mm port . That seems a bit pricey for what is most likely a 3d printed part ..

Maybe you should try to design, develop, print and market a similar product yourself. You would then be better placed to make statements concerning 'pricey'.
There is an alternative on Thingiverse but it is not clear the outlet size (it is not 100mm). See: (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3779750).

With a 100mm outlet, the part is £45.
My opinion on the cost of something is my opinion and not yours . I have no idea whats involved with 3 d printing or designing said items and I don’t particularly care . I have the same planer and I have no issues with the supplied 63 mm port which use a short length of 63 mm hose . I also have a 63 x 100 mm adapter which I’ve not had to use as yet . Therefore to me as I have no problems with my planer it’s extremely expensive but that is my opinion and nobody else’s.
Have you tried going from the supplied 63 mm to 100mm via an adapter. This will be a cheaper option = see my post above . I use a numatic twin motor vac with no issues. Obviously there is a risk of the 100 mm hose blocking as it reduces to 63mm in which case the updated hood you are looking at would be a considerable improvement. But it all comes down to what you’re planing and how much you do . Imo I only take off the minimum amount so I do more passes .
Haven't got an adapter that fits to connect to my record extractor. Seems like the Makita supplied dust shroud is an odd size. I know someone on etsy that could make me one it's £19. Currently using an existing adapter l have and gaffer tape. But lm thinking that as the £45 adapter has a 100mm port and is centralised it would work better. So for an additional £26 would be worth it. And again I could sell the Makita shroud so not much difference it cost. Was hoping someone had experienced with the upgrade to confirm it was an improvement.

I use mine outside, (because there's not enough space in the shed) and just sweep up after I've finished. 
FYI a short piece of 63 mm pipe fits inside the makita shroud and then a rubber type adapter 63-100 mm or similar but either way hope it works out for you.
