I've been asked to make a curved wall for a shower room.

I was thinking of making a stud wall in the shape and cladding with a couple of layers of thin ply. Would this do the job? The idea is to make a rounded shower "cubicle" (roundicle?) on one side, to be clad with mosaic tiles on mesh. The radius of the curve is 450mm.

Anyone done similar, what sort of sheet material would be best?

regards

Ross

Here's a link for BG curved/round wall system which they can supply.
In days gone by we had to make our own, good fun for walls on revolving doors!
Also Google "curved walls" and "round walls", will bring up loads of possibilities for you.
A tip, when using glasroc on either inside or outside, double the studs at vertical joints/sheet edges as the screws will be inclined to "pop" owing to stress on the board edge at 20mm in.
Plasterboard has a "grain" as it is made in one continuous length, being cut to length at the end of a very long production line, the paper edges are the sides.
Lafarge and Knauf are inclined to be "brittle, whereas British Gypsum is more mellow, so will bend easier and in the
upright position.
Dampen the whole board, which has been cut to length, misting from a windolene type bottle and pop it into a frame with some ply cut to the same radius and carefully let it "sink" into the radius, I've seen it crudely leant against the wall.
Frame or cradle set at about 5' apart and allow 18" overhang.
Works well, don't forget the double stud!

This old thread from last year shows how I did it - bendy ply, basically. I looked at curved wall systems but it seemed too much of a faff for a quick one-off - mine was only curved on the outside, though, which may make a difference.

Fairly sure Jacob bought Gyproc F multiboard for the compound curves round his windows & door.

It really bends easily & is great to plaster over, not a great photo but the camera on my work phone isn't brilliant

It was Glasroc. Designed for fire resistance but incidentally very bendy to a radius of about 2ft (I think) - so not a tight bend. Very easy to use and perfect finish (not least thanks to Doug's plastering!).
