Hi all,

I'm making a tea trolly out of mahogany and wondered what would be the best way to fill the grain in this wood. I'm looking at stoppings and fillers in the Axminster catalogue but don't know which would be the best to use.

This is my first hardwood project and I must say this wood is heavy compared to the white stuff in the local shops.

I intend to put some pics on here as soon as possible.

regards

Brian

Rustins mahogany grain filler - that's just what I ordered today. I'm not quite ready for finishing yet but I had to order some dark glue and was looking for other stuff that I needed to get my free delivery from Axminster. I can't buy these things locally.

Anyway I promised some pictures of my project so here is my first, it's just a pile of wood

This is the pile of wood I will be using to create the tea trolly

I want to have the top of the legs bent with a piece of dowel to act as a handle so the thing will look something like this

I just hope my woodworking is a bit straighter than my drawing...!

More to follow

regards

Brian
