MacAllister Track saw and rails

I have one of these - cheap and cheerful but does what I want to do.

I'm in the market for a longer, single piece, rail 1.4/1.5m - the possibles seem to be the Makita (mentioned in the current Rutland thread) or one from Evolution.

I've searched around and loked at measurements/templates etc but can't find a defintive answer on whether the MacAllister will run on either of them . . .

Has anyone ACTUALLY FOR REAL used a MacAllister on either rail please?

Yep - but everything except a MacAllister saw . . .

It was a while ago I watched it. I’m pretty sure Peter had a macAllister at one point. Odd he didn’t include it.

Been thinking of getting a track saw but, as I wouldn't use it a lot, have been holding off. This thread has me thinking again... followed the link above to Tools4trade in the post from, @paulrbarnard and link from @petermillard but it goes to Page 404 - not found.
