Coo, Derek, the long gestation period is readily explained. :shock: :lol: Lyn-esque in many respects. Pity you didn't have a Stanley or L-N #40.5 to compare; it'd be interesting to see if they'd give sufficient improvement in "heft" for your work without needing to go as far as the L-V does. Oh, one thing; d'you always go to that degree of sharpness for scrub irons? Not that I'm judging but, Derek, mate, chum, it's a scrub plane... :roll: :wink:

Enjoyed the review. Ironically, I placed an order for a L-N scrub plane 20 minutes before seeing your post! Unfortunately I don't have an LV to compare it against. Still, it should improve my every expanding triceps
