At least it will stop me wasting my time on the internet when I should be doing stuff in the workshop.

Must restore that treadle lathe.

Is it time to invest in a generator?
All right until the oil runs out, I suppose.......
Oil?

I had visions of a little steam powered generator hissing away in a corner of the workshop. Every time you wanted to run one of those 'lectric thingys you'd just throw some more shavings and an off-cut or two, into the firebox.

Would keep you warm on those cold evenings too...

 :D

Cheers, Vann.

The looming power shortage is caused by the scheduled closure by 2015 of nine oil and coal-fired power plants, as part of ant-pollution measures.
I just KNEW it wasn't man-made!
Bleedin' ants!

When I saw the OP and a couple of the responses I had an image in mind of a new law to prevent "wasteful" home power tools or something. After that the article was quite a relief!

I'll just have to click "save" on my work a bit more frequently and go for a walk when everything shuts down.
