Looking for turning profile templates for sale

Are there any woodworking supply companies that sell profile templates for turned pieces? I've done small turnings without much problem and now I'm about to attempt larger projects. I'm afraid if I don't have something to go by I'll just keep turning the thing further and further looking for 'the right' shape until I've gone too far and have nothing left.

Not aware of anything for sale but most turners make up templates to mark off the work especially if you are doing more than one item.

Sounds like this could be useful. Reviews mention the designs are drawn on a grid so should allow scaling to suit your project

Good link. Yes make your own. That's what I've realised with my Indian club efforts - instead of make one and copy it might be better to make both from the same template.

I have found the hardest thing in turning is to make 2 things exactly the same. Even with a template its still just almost there. Without a template its way out. My first couple of salt and pepper grinders pointed me in the direction of templates. I told people you have to be able to tell them apart but you can't kid yourself.
