Waiting for the next issue of GWW as they have an "exhaustive guide to choosing and using" bandsaws with "budgets from £99 - £1000". As I need a bandsaw I'm looking forward to seeing how thorough this one is.

I've just read the article and, sorry PD/AK, but imho I really don't think it lives up to the billing it was given last month. The line "PD and AK give some guidance and test four models" is a far more accurate description.

GWW does have plans for the "Ultimate Workbench" which is just incredible.

Getting back to the drill:

The scheppach floor standing drill looks good (and colour scheme would go with the HMS260 and TS2500!)

Anyone got/used one of these?

I've looked at this model at my local dealer, as I want a drill which has the forward "extension" facility - to get large peices underneath. It certianly looks the business, and seems really solid, it's the price I'm really baulking at, I notcied Axminster have a similar type in their "Perform" range (its also in their mini-catagloue-brochurey-type thing that arrived yesterday). I'm not sure I've decided in what price range I want to buy yet, there seems to be lots of cheap ones about. I need to think about it a bit longer.

Nope, not any more NN! Thanks for the preview. More dissappointment on the tests, then. I think I'll just stick to buying advice from you guys here at UKW and buy the mag for general reading. It's about time they sorted this out, don't you think?
