Looking for a particular door handle

Had a look at what I'd call the usual suspects but I suspect I need something a little more specialised!

I'm building a sliding door for the workshop and I want a flush / recessed handle so the door will slide all the way back without fouling. Not easy to describe, but I've seen the sort of thing around, metal, probably 3-4" inces high with a recess to put your finger tips in. The whole handle ends up being flush with or below the surface of the door.

Anybody got any ideas where I can find such a thing?

I know the thing you're looking for, but I've only seen them on old doors. You could try looking for sliding door makers/fitters in Yellow Pages rather than the usual hardware stores. Or you could make one. A rectangle of steel or brass screwed over a recess carved in the door frame would work. You would need to curl the edge or use a pice of dowel with a slot cut so it fits over the metal.
