Hi all,

New to the site,

I have been reading through alot of the posts regarding the older solid drill presses.

What's your opinions on this kerry super 8 drill?

What does 20mm capacity mean?

Is it the size of the chuck?

Love to hear peoples thoughts on this

Thanks all

The Kerry Super 8 looks like a great, substantial machine. Here's a rebuild video which might give you things to check out if you go to see it. Good luck!

I love mine! Decided to keep both in the end but in my mind i would let go of the meddings before the kerry. On the slowest speed the torque could crush your fingers against the pillar though so be careful if you get one! The gentlemen who sold me mine though it was broke as he didn't know how to change the gear pin so i picked it up for £35 but would happily pay a lot more.. Its worth noting the depth of movement is deeper than the norm found on all the old pillar drills, 5" iirc. The way the lid lifts is also really nice, its on soft moving mechanism so as it lift it sits back out of the way
Pictures the only one i have but you can see its rather substantial indeed!
