I expect you can guess whats coming.

I want to build a tissue box with small logs, perhaps a low angle roof as well.

Never built a log cabin before, anyone know where I can pick up some construction tips off the web or elsewhere?

Thanks guys, when I did the google all I got was sales no construction details.

Should now have all I need with those links above.

Now where can I get some logs? :)

I think I am going to use a roundover bit on the router, my wrists dont like turning square edges to round on the lathe.

Having just spent the last 3 days building one. I can send you the plans if you need further details. Pm me your address if required.
Cheers, Phil

I did the windows and doors on this beauty...

http://www.canadawood.co.uk/builds/cabin-in-the-woods/

on the other end the gable is open with big triangular window frames that I had to build on site to suit, below the gable is full width glazing consisting of large glazed double doors in the centre and large glazed sidelights, I'll try and get some pic's together...

What is puzzling me is the corner joints, thinking perhaps a 12.6 mm half circular cut, wondering if I could do it with forstener bit with two pieces held together, thinking windows, doors and perhaps a shingle roof. :)

If you want it to look authentic you will need to incorporate shrink boxes above the doors and windows, you should allow 1 inch per log on a full size 'full scribe' cabin
