LN/LV price movements at Axminster

Just received the latest Axminster catalogue.

Veritas planes gone up in price.

But LN planes have come down - not a common occurrence !

You should have hung onto them a bit longer Karl BTW the skew rebate is a gem - enjoying using it.

LN have lost one order at least. My first Quangsheng is expected in the post this morning. It's only a standard angle block plane but that made it even harder to justify the high end prices.

Been thinking about buying a veritas dovetail saw. I thought about it before xmas but decided I didn't really need it and the vat increase would only be in the region of a quid or so when I did get round to it. Just checked Axminster today and the price has risen from £41 to £50. That's a 22% rise!

Since this morning (I assume a website update) the CHT prices have gone up to the same price too.

Would the price change be anything to do with currency? Canadian dollar vs US dollar...
