Hello all, I am rather new to carpentry world, I have a pice if timber with live edge that I would like to keep but I can’t get a square edge off either side of the board as they at both unsquare. Any way I can find a point to work off to square up an end. Sorry if this is a ameture question, just trying to learn. Many Thanks
Henry

Start from the middle. measure and mark the centre at both ends, draw a line the length of the board. Measure out from the centre to both edges.

Just to be clear - do you want to keep both live edges (eg a coffee table) or just one live edge (eg a shelf that sits flat to the wall on one side)

I would have though a line of best fir down the middle with a long straight edge and then square off each end from that line.
