Cycled to get the papers this morning, came up behind a female jogging. Rang my bell no response, shouted no response, slowed down to her pace and moved over to the right to get passed, she moved in the same direction. Contact, words, she pulled out her ear piece and said did you say something.

I was not on a pavement, was a narrow road owned by the MOD no cars allowed. :)

I prefer the view from a head on collision.

some nice harmonic motion of the um....... you get the picture!
the main reason why I LOVE dog walking in the park in the summer.

the other tip, take a baby to the super market, don't buy anything just push them around for a while, bloody bird magnet!, oh and of course walking a puppy.... never fails!

Paul don't carry a pump anymore just a small gas cannister, the mind boggles. :x It still bugs me that she could not hear anything, stupid situation.

Newt, on a more sombre note, we had one of our athletic, talented, Oxbridge candidates run down in similar circumstances, because he too could not hear what was behind him. He now shuffles, and is terribly pleased with himself if he can remember your name without prompting.

Best to have two sets of earphones.
1)Completely sealed, for using on the train to shut out all the annoying people with their MP3's with sound bleed and so as to not add to the annoyance.
2) hook over the ear sports ones that allow external sound past for cycling and running...and walking for that matter, I don't like using sealed ones walking to the pub. Also does away with the contact noise from the underwater effect.
