Early Monday morning (1am) the car alarm went off.
Reset
Came on again an hour later, so I got dressed went out to check doors and windows were closed.
Just got back to sleep and it went off again, so spent nearly an hour trawling the internet for a solution; main culprit appeared to be a microswitch in the bonnet latch.
Got dressed, fetched tools out of the shed and at 3.30 am disconnected the switch.
No further alarms and all day yesterday it was fine so was feeling quite chuffed with the fix.
Apologised to all the neighbours. Booked car into dealers (still in warranty)

Last night 12.45 the f-ing thing went off again, twice in quick succession!
Tearing out what little hair I have left , I got dressed and went out with the torch with no real idea what to do.

Then I saw the cause; a damn great moth was flying around inside the car!
No idea how it got in.
This morning I'm tired, but triumphant.

Haha, glad you sorted it. We moved into our house a number of years back, first house with an alarm. Never really felt the need for one so took no notice of the instructions when moving in. A few years later the thing starts gong off at two in the morning, not a clue why, tried to disconnect it from the electrics but still going off, returned from the shed with an axe and disconnected the speaker. May still be going off for all I know!
