Not quite Ray Davis but nice to be off work for a day or two in the middle of a fortnight of good weather with nothing to do- heaven.

Oil seed **** crops..... + me = sneezy snotty red eyed monster. No Thanks It does look lovely though - I was coming back from London on the train to Bristol through the countryside and all the yellow fields, it was very cheerful.

Thanks MB, that sunset was nature's best. Alas, the sun shiney thing is usually temporary around these parts. Most folk are happy with a dry-ish summer, the sun itself and a blue sky are a rare bonus. Hottest day of the year so far today, well over 20c.
Last year summer was on a Tuesday I think...............

Noel, good to see the oul' country again. I take it that's Kanes' field of ****? I always found it amazing how much further the mountain seemed to be when it was sunny, hot and slightly hazy. Summat to do with air density and refraction I suppose, but glorious nonetheless. Au voir!

For once the local wisdom is wrong Sammy:

Having said that, bleeding rain due on Friday. How's the big smoke? Dog Day Afternoons? Blue bags everywhere? : )

"Dog days"? You bet. My garden is on the Sandown Clay vein; the surface is rock hard and the paving on the paths have all got big gaps running parallel to them.

Mind you, I'm now down to 38 working days before retirement...that shed is not going to know what hit it.

Teacher burn out is a real and very sobering experience.

Weather not bad around this part of the world today, had a ride over through Herefordshire and on westwards.

Stopped for a Picnic Lunch just up the road from here

having revisited Claerwen etc. to reminisce about the last 60+ years of changes.

Before wending our way along the mountain road

To end up parking along the Sea Front and strolling the length of the over crowded prom.

Indulged in a ride up the Cable Car to suffer the Scones, Jam & Cream to soak up the Tea and Cappuccino before a delightful if somewhat careful stroll down again and back up to the car by the pier.

I took early retirement just before my 50th due to a screwed up back, 22 years back, and I'm still trying to catch up with this retirement lark.

24 hours just ain't a long enough day mate!

Understandable that you had to go to a Celtic country for some decent scenery and friendly people....... : )
