Try riding a motor bike!
I have ridden with flat tyres, the back wheel is o/k but the last time I had a flat front it went in to a wicked weave over 10 MPH!

Ah well Pete, as I always tell my brother, "motorbikes are a bit like nuclear bombs. Better if they hadn't been invented in the 1st place!"

As you can guess, I'm NOT a bike fan, though he is (maybe it has something to do with the fact that years ago he took me for a "ride" with me in his sidecar and at the bottom of a steep hill with a sharp RH bend chair and bike parted company! I walked away from that, but NEVER again thanks! ;-)

Funnily enough though I do enjoy watching the MotoGP on the box - far more interesting than F1 IMHO.

Seriously though, I can well imagine how careful one must be with tyres when on any sort of motorbike. Take care.

P.S. Spare wheel for the Pug 308 is now ordered (see my OP).

hi all
a few years ago (5) i was lucky enough to be ordering a new V70 r-design ,during the order process the salesman asked me,what i thought to be the most stupid question ever, "would i like a spare wheel with the car?" i replied of course i want a bl**dy spare wheel , he then explained it was a no cost option in lieu of compressor and goo.
i opted for a spare - maybe old fashioned but much safer in my opinion.
a few weeks later collected the car and within a week and a half out with friends one night got a lump of metal through the side wall on a dark country road at 2 in the morning.
a national tyre dealer took 5 days to get me a replacement tyre as it was a new low profile.
was i happy i opted for a no cost option of a spare.
cheers paul-c

Haha! Reminds me of the Mutiny On The Buses film where Olive is being rushed to the maternity hospital in the sidecar

Made me picture him lighting a Hamlet cigar as he went off down the road

I'm glad you got so much enjoyment from that. For me it wasn't all that funny at the tiime, but looking back on it (it was 40+ years ago) it does sound rather amusing now - but I've never been on a motorbike since ;-)

Goo wouldn't have helped me back in March when I hit a hidden pothole one dark and stormy night, dented the rim and damaged the sidewall of a week old tyre!

Been there, done that. although it was due to avoiding someone who didn't believe in giving way to traffic from the right!
