Sold KITY CK26 for sale (1989)

KITY CK26 Combination Woodworking Machine.

Rarely used piece of kit in excellent condition. The person that had it before me used it solely for the planer function, and I only used it for the past few months for spindle moulder. I’m only selling now as I have a dedicated bandsaw, Planer and a spindle moulder, therefore it’s now redundant.

Unlike the earlier models, this one is built on a steel table with a cam assisted caster for mobility. To switch between the saw, morticer or spindle moulder, you simply swap over a drive belt. The Thicknesser, although belt driven, is constantly engaged.

It comes with the following equipment

636 Planer / Thicknesser

617 Table Saw

652 Slot Morticer

628 Spindle Moulder


Everything works as it should.

The saw comes with a 220mm blade, sliding carriage rails and a sliding mitre gauge. There is no parallel rip fence, but aftermarket ones for small table saws can be purchased.

The spindle moulder comes with sliding carriage rails, a sliding tenoning jig, various rebate cutters, various spindle moulders and other attachments. It has a rise and fall functionality, adjustable fence with micro adjustments, and dust extraction.

The Morticer was rarely (if ever) used and comes with a chuck key and a set of unopened mortice cutters.

The Planer / Thicknesser has been recently stripped down, cleaned and greased. It also comes with dual chip / dust extraction hoods. I’ll also include a brand new set of blades which will need fitting.

There’s also a box of random items, ie spare cutters, ring gauges, spindle moulders which are worth something on their own.

Dust extraction for the planer and spindle moulder is 100mm.

And lastly, I’ve have manuals for each of the tools but you don’t really need it.

Due to the weight collection is preferred, but if you supply me with your postcode, I can give you a cost for delivery. Or alternatively, you can arrange your own courier to collect on your behalf.

I’m asking for £700 including a box load of spares. The cutters and discs alone are worth £100 each.

Ps. I’ve checked inside the box of extras, and there are some large unused rebate cutters, extra blades and also inside the blue box is a raised panel cutter for making cabinet doors.

I hope you don't mind me saying that it definitely isn't a K5 and by describing it as that you're underselling you machine. It's the bigger combination aimed squarely at commercial workshops when it was introduced, if you look back through earlier threads I outlined the models and designations depending on which machines were on the table.
From the pics I initially thought it is a CK26 but it could be a combi based on the 704 table, most likely the a 7042 but that machine had a 627 moulder and I don't remember the 628 so that's thrown me a bit. I have a fair bit of info if you need it.

Price looks about right and someone will get a very capable machine at that price.

Would agree with Lons. I had a K5 and was surprised at how good it was and this is a step up from that

Looking at other pics online, I think that it is a Bestcombi and not a K5, so I’ll try and amend the listing.

It's definitely not a Bestcombi either Richard. The Bestcombi is just an updated K5 where they changed colours to red/green and uprated the spindle moulder shaft to 30mm. Read my earlier post and if you look back to previous threads I covered some of it in detail.
I stocked and sold these machines in the late 80s early 90s. yours is a larger machine and worth more than either a K5 or a Bestcombi. (Note however just so no confusion the Bestcombi 2000 is a later machine and completely different animal )

If you're not convinced just compare size and capacity. K5 & Bestcombi had only a 200mm saw blade and planer/thicknesser was 150 x 100 powered by an 1100 watt motor, you'll find your capacities are more than that.

it's not the £700 that's the expensive bit, it's all the legal fees from the sure to follow matrimonial dispute solicitors.....

Hi All, I purchased the above machine from Richard back in July this year. I've finally got round to stripping it all down and completely servicing it. It's amazing how costs mount though, new saw blades, new belts, safety switches, new rip fence and dust extraction all cost the best part of £400.
Really pleased though on how the machine looks and can't wait to start using it in earnest. I have attched some photo's of the finished machine.
