Now I know it's a silly option, especially after talking about fire extinguishers etc....but does anyone have a wood burner installed in their workshop.....or even a Chiminea???????
Just wondering!
Mike

Mike I can heartily endorse the 'wood burning stove' idea, not sure about a Chiminea but I imagine it would be about the same.

The 'fire hazard' is sometimes overdone. I follow the advice from an American forum and always sweep up around the stove before I leave the workshop at night. I've been using mine for 3 years and 'tho I was a bit apprehensive at first I'm totally convinced they are perfectly safe as long as you follow that simple rule, oh BTW I don't 'store' my firwood next to the stove either

TBH your biggest problem will be getting enough wood to get the heat up to what you want, they are really hungry beasties, I put a full arm load of wood on every 30 to 45 minutes but once it really gets going I can put bigger stuff on and then it lasts an hour or more.

Offcuts alone will not be enough to keep you warm.

Google 'Hot Spot' and you'll see some designs, or if you can find a big bit of pipe PM me and I can tell you how mine was made and I can get 1Mt. lengths of wood into it which helps :)
