Looks like a good idea. It does a good job at jointing. I also thought it was a big cutter for that router but if you are only taking a plane like shaving depth of cut I guess you can get away with it. It may be the answer for some with limited tool collections but the basics of hand plane working must still be followed. Another thought has just come to mind. For the cost of that router you could just buy an electric plane.
