I seem to remember seeing that 'Benny' from cross Roads was a keen woodturner.

And yes, Winston was in fact quite accomplished at brick laying, the walls he built at Chartwell are still standing. He did however have someone doing the mixing and hod carrying!

Peter the Great was a keen woodturner. I read somewhere that Prince Charles also did
some woodworking in his early years (possibly when attending an Australian school).

Don't know about world leaders, but Harrison Ford was a high end cabinet maker /carpenter (not sure which) for high profile Hollywood people before he became an actor. And Matt LeBlanc was also a trained carpenter

Theres a number of woodies who went on to do lesser things.

Harrison Ford (as above) was one, but also William H Macy is an accomplished woodturner
George Montgomery known for his acting in cowboy films was also a Sculptor and Furniture Maker
Dom DeLuise(Cannonball Run) - Furnituremaker
Kevin Costner - Framing carpenter

It's amazing how these actors could act and do something else very well as well.

Nowadays the "actors" can't even act, let alone do anything else. Generally they are kids of the accomplished actors of the previous generation!
