cerdeira, I hope you don't mind me adding my question to your thread but I am also considering the DW331K jigsaw, the Bosch GST135BCE jigsaw and the Jet JWBS-9 Bench Top Bandsaw.

I don't need to cut 80mm hardwood but I would like to saw curves into 20-40mm Oak.

Which would I be better off with? I don't really want to go for a small bandsaw as I know I'll end up selling it in a years time when I hope to have a bigger work area. I would go for it if it is truly much better than the above jigsaws for my purpose though.

Thanks,
pike

I hope this works. Check out this recent topic before parting with the cash for the Bosch.

But I also agree with most of the sentiments posted here. A jigsaw if for thinish material, no matter what the depth of cut stated by the manufacturer. It may make a cut in say 100mm pine but nine times out of ten the cut will skew in some way

Thanks. I think I'll get a jigsaw now and a larger bandsaw when I get more work space. Though I've read bad things about both of the aforementioned jigsaws.
