January 2014 Challenge - A Pierced Turning

Well, looks like I wont be entering this month. Today would be the only day I had to finish my entry, but I ain't going out in that. The shed is 20m from the house, and by the time I roll the extension out I'd be soaked.

so i'ld nearly finished all the piercing was quite pleased with it ....and.............
Opps butter fingers... dropped it, bounced off a log, multiple chunks out the rim!

I said oh golly gosh!!

Proceeded to butcher it to.... an abstract entry!!! Its not pretty!!

You have my sympathy Melinda......it is absolutely awful when that happens. Hours of painstaking detail work up the swanny in one moment....ugh. It's usually a skew chisel that does for me as I'm just removing a nadger of a toolmark in some corner of a bead and.......boom.....a catch the size of the Mariana trench!!

I've always fancied putting a nice mahogany finial on my index finger

Unfortunately it was beyond superglue. .. I also left out the second drop through fear of sounding to clumsy! !!
Anyway it was either not enter anything, or call it abstract and artistic!!!
