James Krenov

I'm sad to report that James Krenov has died, aged 89. Famous as a cabinetmaker, author and teacher, those of us who enjoy woodworking as a past-time and passion will mourn that passing of a man who famously declared himself "an amateur, and always will be. That's the way I want to die." Though he never completed his final cabinet in 2006, he was reportedly still making wooden planes this spring, working by touch with failing eyesight.
