Can anyone think of an example of something that is defiantly NOT art?

That's the thing, you don't get to choose.

Might not be art to you but that doesn't rule it out as art.

Dried cow sh|t. Presumably patted over a mould (gourd?).
The point being that craftsmanship and good design are not dependant on kit and materials. It's about what you do with what you have, whatever it is.

I assume your post is tongue in cheek :?: ..............................."beautiful object and craftsmanship" :?: .....
No not at all. They are beautiful objects, skilfully made and decorated.

That was kinda my point. You can legitimatly argue that just about anything is art, and thus "Good" art. What both are is absolutly subjective. Categorising makes it easier to say what is good and what is not, as the set of standards being used to make that statment are more specific. For example, what makes a good impressionist painting over what makes a good techical drawing.

The greatest artist in the past decade is without doubt (IMHO) whoever did this:

What was the 'greatest artist' bit, the part were the YBA material was lost or that of the National Gallery and Tate Britain. Maybe it was the many businesses and livelihoods were destroyed, not to mention the homes affected in the immediate area?
