Hi all
Need to get cracking to make my wife's christmas present - a set of egg cups - and want to make it from some yew we've had in logs for the last few years. I understand that yew is poisonous...so is it safe to use for this?
Many thanks

Should be fine, no direct contact with moist food.

If you have any, I would suggest Melamine Lacquer finish to allow them to wiped with moist cloth for cleaning.
If not several coats of Shellac/friction polish.

Thanks, Chas
I might have a nose around for some melamine finish tomorrow otherwise it'll have to be shellac.
I promise to post pictures...

...purely unintentional - must be naturally amusing  Still, making a present saves shelling out...

"Cracking" reply, Stewart.
Hat, Coat................................"TAXI".
