it is a casting resin of some form- i would guess at epoxy resin, but may be a polyeurethane

its just a dye they add to casting resin. its all very fashionable these days, also the glow in the dark powder lol

Looks interesting but his techniques and lack of safety glasses etc leaves a lot to be desired.

Agreed, i wasn't endorsing his technique, although the end result looked good. The planing was the bit that scared me also, and the dog almost got jigsawed too.
