Had this Saw since Moses left Dumbarton, and wondered if anyone has any knowledge? Perhaps it's too far gone? I've looked up the make but can only find info on Planes. The blade is quite straight but the handle is loose, see pic's and the back is steel not brass.

Hi

It's more a question do you want to spend time and money doing it up , certianly need a lot of cleaning, handle can be repaired , cost of recut set and sharpen etc , or buy another ? not necessarily new , mind you old steel old saw usually good quality it could come up real nice , that the questions, only you can answer.hc

Technically it just needs sharpening and away you go. Tho that's a dark art. A Saw doctor might be able to help you if you have one local.

Definitely yes
Here's a couple of saws I cleaned up:

Not that difficult to do - just some elbow grease! :)
Saws have since been sharpened.

Would any of you 3 who replied like to have it ? Don't know what the cost of postage would be, but I'm sure your getting some of the oak timber at the weekend Wizer and I'll take it with me on Saturday for you if you want?
