Will still have plenty of life left in it. who wants a bench that looks like you have never done any work on it before!

Yes totally agree if you just want a bench that you do not mind if it gets knocked about. But the point Mick was making is that the description is far from correct, and a complete misrepresentation of the condition.

On top of that he has a reserve price on it "20p" anyone?

Cheers

Mike

If it is a solid & stable construction, it would be great.... its condition is only cosmetic. You would probably be best lining the top of the bench with a fresh bit of ply, for purely cosmetic reasons.

Agreed though.... the decription does not match the item.

forget the ply - all it needs is the top flattened, i learned all most everything on one of these benches at college, this bench will outlast me and the next owner. Worth every penny i reckon.

I tend to agree - if he werent so far away i'd bid on it - okay so its not in pristine condition but the seller probably thinks that "excellent" in this context means that it is structuraly sound with no worm etc - afterall hes put a picture up so its not like hes setting out to mislead anyone

I have to come on the side of the 'agree-ers'. The only question is whether the framing is solid.

That looks remarkably like my bench - I'd better just pop into the workshop and make sure it hasn't gone. This looks likes a beautifully solid pine bench that weighs a lot and is worth every penny paid for it. I don't believe it's hardwood on the other hand.

Anyone in the Carlisle area would be a mug not to go for it.

Well I've looked, and looked again, looked closer still.
Guess I must be missing something as it looks a pile of tat to me. :?
