Bit of a gloat really :lol: 54" x 15" x 3/4" flat an a pancake, price £3 :lol:

Definitely not iroko, so is it mahogany?
 
it seems closer grained than mahogany, but I cant really tell - a closeup would be useful.

Oh, and I have one other thing to say: You lucky swine! (£3 is a bargain!)

Could it be bubinga? Knowing where you got it from might help.

Looking at that grain pattern, I would suspect that it won't be flat as a pancake for long....

It came from a local car boot sale so I don't think that would help. It's old, the other side which I didn't take a pic looks like it may have been used as a work table as it's got marks and paint spills all over it and down each of the long sides are dowel holes :? as BB said it is very close grained, very much so.

It could well be mahogany but we will need a closer pic to tell for sure as it might be a few things.

I'll take a macro pic tomorrow, I've already got an idea what to use it for :lol:
