Just a heads up to those Mac users who might be using Time Machine. I came across several posts recently including the Apple website to the effect that Time Machine won't backup your iPhoto library if iPhoto is running. Daft, I know.

You can check your iPhoto backups by going to File > Browse Backups in iPhoto. I just did that and this is where it gets confusing as my most recent import done this afternoon has been backed up by Time Machine even though iPhoto was running.

There are also some worrying tales about iPhoto libraries being lost after an upgrade to iLife 11.

Roger,
I prefer not to use Time Machine, it seemed all to overblown for me. A weekly backup to an external disc dive, monthly(ish) backups to DVD and prints of the most treasured pics annually does for me.

Oh no, it isn't. Oh yes, it is! Seriously using it and retrieving stuff is excellent. Having said that I belt and brace and use SuperDuper as well.

My TM capsule is located in a separate building as well with a UPS.

Worth trying it.
