Our integrated fridge door sliders (4 yrs old) keep failing.

The rail on left keeps popping out of the fixing on the right. I think it's because the "wings" have now got some flex in them, such that force required to open door pulls the rail out.

Simple job to replace like for like, and not expensive part. But before doing so is there a higher quality replacement that I could use that won't end up with same problem in a couple of years? Or am I overthinking this - just spend the £10 and be done for next few years?

Think it would help if you could get a screw through the empty hole in the part on the left, you might need to glue a packing piece to the back of the door panel to achieve this?

Edit to say this probably won't help if it's just popping out as soon as you pull the door open leaving the fridge door still closed.

See if the load from the fridge door is shared equally between the two sliders. If not, adjust until it is. Consider installing an extra one or two (so two pairs instead of two singles) to reduce load per item.

It may be that your fridge has an extra-strong magnet in the strip or that it is creating a partial vacuum inside when closed and cooled for a while. Make sure the drain at the back is free so the pressure is equalised.

Thanks for both those replies. Not a bad shout on using two pairs. The door handle is towards the bottom, so probably does mean there is uneven force applied when opening.

I'll check the drain as well. On reflection I think my partner and I have both commented in past on how strong a pull to open required on rare occasions
