Hi Folks.
Was sat whirling the old gogs of the grey matter yessterday evening and wondered if I ought to insure my workshop or its contents seperately to the house. It is suposed to be covered upto the value of £2000. However if I were to and heaven forbid I do need to replace any stolen or damaged equipment it would cost more than the above figure. Does any one else insure seperatley, or have tales of woe regarding insurance and work shops. Hobbist or pro.

This has come up quite a lot so a search will be worth doing. Suffice to say though that it isn't easy to get cover to the value you will want. Even as a pro there are minefields if you work form home as I do because they just don't know how to appraise it. Consequently most of my cover is through extensions in my public liability insurance through Norwich Union. Even that doesn't go beyond 12k IIRC.

Cheers

Tim
