"Indoors" Toolkit Thread

I have a very poorly thought out "indoors" toolkit that stops me having to make numerous trips to the workshop (all of 15m) for trivial tasks like hanging pictures, minor fixes etc. I'm looking to formalise this a bit more and thought that other people probably have similar setups and might share the contents. Photos even better

I have a basic toolkit bought online which covers me for basic stuff.

Hi there - I have a similar problem to yours in that I often do small jobs for friends and family which only require a few basic tools. Trouble is how do you define “ a few basic tools “ mine atm are contained within tote box which seems to gain weight on a daily basis. I’m thinking a small to medium trolley with t stack type boxes that can be wheeled to the car boot or in your case from the garage to the kitchen, lounge, etc .. as I have a few dewalt containers for screws and other small pieces then I’ll probably go with dewalt

i purchased a dewalt toolbox on offer a few years back 1/2 price at toolstation and keep a lot of tools - probably too many - rather than walk 20m to back of garden and garage - particularly in the dark and wet...

This is mine in the maxpedition bag, plus the cordless driver that lives in the house for screwdriving jobs and small holes with hex shank drill bits.

Wera screwdriver set and a strap wrench cover me for most stuff in the house - rest lives in workshop. There’s a regular pile of bits by the back door that have migrated indoors and need to go back to the safety of the workshop.
Trips to friends get the expected power tools in boxes and hand tool requirements added to a Systainer for convenience.

forgot about that , got a few leatherman knives - in the kit , in the car , and 1 in the house - i have used them a bit - excellent tools

my quick kit for round the house is a small, tall, homemade tote, about the size of those wire totes that held four pints pints of milk back in the day. it holds a selection of screwdrivers, wd40, fuses, a knife, a pencil or two, a few pliers and a 16oz hammer, nice to able to grab everything that i'm likely to need in one trip but not lug around a huge box of tools.

Slightly bigger flat screwdriver
Size 2 philips driver
Size 1 Philips driver
(Sorely missing a size 2 pozidrive screwdriver!)
Stanley knife
Impact driver with screw bits and drill bits (drills walls because my house is made out of ticky-tacky)
Electric drill (now largely redundant)
Paint can opener
Long nose pliers
Electrician's pliers
Set of very small screwdrivers
Magnetic screwdriver set.

yes a home kit in the garage.
Plus a couple of screwdrivers and a pair of pliers in the kitchen odds and sods drawer. Amazing how often the pliers get used for food! Pin bones in Salmon etc.
