I don't know if there are any other shops worth visiting in the immediate area, but Classic handtools is worth a visit just to see a large collection of quality tools under one roof, in a village setting and if you spend enough you may be able to negotiate a deal on something. I mention it because it's only a relatively short hop across the to the east coast and the wealth of boating communities.

Can't remember the name of the shop (Italian name) but all they sold were carving chisels and gouges and they were in the Warren St area.

If London better to look at furniture, V&A, Geoffrey Museum, Wm Morris etc. I think it was on a busride to one of the last 2 we travelled down Curtain Road and there was at least 1 toolshop still there...
