Increasing chip collection capacity

The amount of chippings in your picture above I would say is about the normal level I would expect not be have been collected.

Anyone doing better?
 
Going off thread a little but following DW's remarks re chippings/dust collection, I've just done a guesstimate of the collection of my machines. I wonder how it compares with other users. Maybe my system isn't as good as I think!
6" Planer 95%
12" Thicknesser 85%
10" Table Saw 95% (2 Point take off)
Router table 85%
Random Orb Sander 95%
Bandsaw 95% (Surprisingly good)
Sliding Mitre Saw Absolutely bloody awful!

I can't remember ever having any dust anywhere but in the extractor with my P/T in thicknessing mode. There is a little surface dust when planing but that's to be expected.

Obviously from Karl's pics we can see that with increased suck the dust is reduced.

I fill up the dust bag OK, but I reckon to get 5 to 10% thrown to the floor as well when thicknessing, minimal planing.
