I've been accepted, yay. Had to take a English and maths test to ***** my levels ect, had a chat, walked around the workshop and I showed him two pieces I took with me.

No1 a bread board I made, it's a simple project but shows the basics of jointing, with the added delight if chamfers my hand
I can't remember the radius now tho.
Photos are bad it's too bright!!
Took these not long ago.
Sycamore and cherry chopping board (my nan loves it) tho complains there isn't a notch to help lift

No2 hard maple box, again not the most complex box in regards to joints but it's effective and mostly done by hand (used bandsaw for ripping lid and thicknesses)
When I progress in the course I'll be making a similar box but dt

Great news Toby.

Some of the best days of my life were spent at college and it wasn't even a subject I was passionate about.

re pictures,

Why not give photobucket a whirl, you can have a folder for each project and then just give one link to the pic and lazy northerners can just click next. Dropbox sucks opening and closing each one individually.

I'm talking about the LV1 city and guilds furniture craft (1year corse)

I have already taken part in the restoration of fine furniture corse. Evening class 10weeks once a week.
The tutor David is very good and I learnt a lot even tho being there for such a short time.

I do reccoment the evening course if that's what you want to do "reatore". I want to make.

Funny really, after I finished the evening course I said to my partner "babe I don't want to do French polishing again"

I ran C&G courses for a few years and they are the bedrock of the woodworking industry. Enjoy your time at college ask lots of questions and soak up the knowledge like a sponge. Then come back and share your new skills please!
