Well, just the best holiday ever. Two weeks in Whistler, British Columbia. Fantastic snow, hardly anyone there, the guys we were with got engaged on the second day (knackered any kind of food and drink budget). I finally mastered skiing powder through trees - very steep learning curve! And my instructor is a cabinet maker in the 'off' season. Now there's work life balance for you!

Isn't it warm here though

Hi Tim,

Welcome back!

Glad that you had a great holiday. I have never skiied Whistler, but I have skiied Lake Louise / Sunshine Village. I know what you mean about cold - I was there at about the same time as you and we were regularly experiencing daytime temps of 0 deg F. In the nights it got really cold!

At least it meant that the snow stayed in good condition! :D

All the best.

I had a very scary experience at Sunshine Village. I was skiing Goatseye Mountain when I got caught in a complete whiteout. I was on my own, and there was no-one else around. I couldn't see a thing. I managed to find a marker post in the middle of the piste, and I sat down and huddled by that for about half an hour until it cleared. I was very concerned that I was going to spend the night out there!

Yes - the run from the top back to the carpark is interesting to say the least. When I skiied it it was as icy as a bobsleigh track - most exciting!
