What is it's inductive current rating ? A lot of these devices are rated for resistive loads with little capacity for inductive loads like motors.

The manual says you shouldn't use it with inductive load
I'd not considered this. Been using for a year with no bother but don't want to cause anyone issues
 
I had two set of 3 of the Everready branded remote plugs.
All 6 failed within two years.
 
Thanks for that. I have a different unit into which I plug my loud mammoth shop vac with a 20-foot hose. It's great to be able to turn it off remotely. As I work in 2 areas of my basement, snaking the hose from one to the other, I can now roll the vac closer to its job. The hose resembles an anaconda in girth and weight and it tries to trip me.
